I apologize for the long silence. I’m a bit behind on my reading for various reasons, including still recovering from this summer.

Synopsis:

What magical beings and places lurk in the Granite State? What adventures await the adventurer or the unwary. Dragons hide in various places, or perhaps the local university runs a captive breeding program for griffons. What beast awaits the new motorcyclist at Bike Week? Perhaps you will stumble across a gnome trying to halt progress.

Review:

Okay, full disclosure, I’m not fond of anthologies. Because of the variety of talents and tastes, I find them hard to get through. This one took some time. However, I’m glad I finished. While there are some stories I had to struggle with, others were indeed magical. A Gaslight Fantasy story about magical fibers at the turn of the century Amoskeag Mills. There is Eliza, who saves her family from a rockslide and becomes part of the forest. I can’t review twenty-five stories in this one review, but I can say that if you want to see what lurks in New Hampshire, there is something for every taste of adventure. I just there were more dragons.
