Review:

The story of for the search for the Aglaril stones continues with Vorn the Onyx. I somehow managed to get ahold of the second book and have yet to read the first one. The tale is interesting, involving a witch who by kidnapping orphaned girls, runs interference for a group of necromancers who seek to seize control of Fr. Pierce’s home of Wrightwood. This also puts Fr. Pierce and his companions on the path of the next Aglaril stone. When brought together, these powerful, and intelligent, gems will recreate the crown and restore the kingship.

While the story and the plot were interesting, the dialog was a little stilted. The conflicts also seemed too easily resolved. I never got a sense that the protagonists might not win.
