Synopsis:
Sarah Pinsker (same name as the author) has been invited to SarahCon. This is a convention where she will meet Sarah Pinskers from alternate realities. The story is based on the hypothesis that each decision a person makes creates divergent points, leading to multiple realities. One of the Sarah Pinskers has discovered how to access the other realities and decided to hold a convention on a Canadian Island for herselves. When our Sarah arrives, she finds a hotel full of different variations of herself, shaped by different choices in different realities. Then one of them is murdered. Our Sarah is an insurance investigator. With authorities held at bay by a storm, she is as close as they can come to a detective. Which Sarah Pinsker if the killer?
Review:
And Then There Were (N-One) was nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Novella in 2018. Sarah Pinsker has written a murder mystery with a twist. One of her selves has murdered another self. Imagine going to a convention for yourself—all sorts of yourselves. When Sarah interviews other Sarahs in this whodunnit, the results are funny and intriguing.
