Book: The Powterosian War (Neuyokkasinian Arc of Empire #5)
Published: May 2015
King Saxthor is on the defensive against the Dreadscdrac armies. While meeting with success here and there, Neuyokkasin’s resources are dwindling. King Saxthor’s norther allies are buckling under the constant pressure of armies of orcs, goblins, and dragons. One ally collapses. Another is loosing ground. Saxthor, king of Neuyokkasin, is on the defensive. His pleas for military assistance to the Powterosian Empire seem to fall on deaf ears. Someone on the Neuyokkasin’s side must have asked how things could get worse.
Emperor Engwan IV has decided to annex Neuyokkasin. With enemies to his north and south, the Dragon Ring and Crown of Yensupov take on new importance. So does the loyalty of friends, and the ingenuity of a King.
This is C. Craig Coleman’s fifth installment of his series Neuyokkasinian Arc of Empire. The story is still complex. It contains a number of subplots that are common when fighting a war on many fronts. Nevertheless, Craig Coleman’s handling of the subplots has improved. The story is less bogged down by subplots than in the fourth book The Dreaddrac Onslaught. They are doing more to energize the book back into the page turner the first books were. There were some minor grammatical issues that are easy to overlook once the action starts. As I said with his other books, this series is a must for lovers of high fantasy.
